At NEXTLocums, we love getting to know our providers. Meet Richard Beevers, FNP. Richard has been a locum tenens provider for seven months and works with Indian Health Services.
NEXTLocums: Why did you become a locum tenens provider?
Beevers: I became a locum‘s provider as a change. I was looking for something different and the opportunity to practice outside the state of Oklahoma and NEXTLocums was able to provide that.
NEXTLocums: What do you like about working with Indian Health Services?
Working for the Indian Health Services is very interesting. The population is very appreciative of all that we do. I’m enjoying being exposed to the Native American culture and learning about it.
NEXTLocums: Why do you like working with your recruiter and NEXTLocums?
Working with Terri Ball (recruiter) and NEXTLocums has been a true joy. They are very responsive to any questions that I have. Anytime I need information or updates they are provided very rapidly. Terri is always available to me as a resource and I really appreciate the work that she does.
NEXTLocums: Do you have a memorable experience with a patient you would like to share?
My memorable experience with a patient was back in April or May. There was a young Native American patient who came in and was treated, and as he was leaving, in his native language he was speaking very loud and afterward he translated it and told us that it was a blessing and he was so thankful for us coming and providing services to his people and it was just very touching and eye-opening to be made aware of how grateful this individual was for the service we provided.
